The road is important for regional connectivity, as it passes through 10 districts. It improves access for 14 adjoining districts, effectively opening up the historically underdeveloped Vidarbha and Marathwada regions. The corridor seamlessly connects to major logistical networks like the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust near Mumbai. This route helps many individuals with agricultural economic development. This aims to create thousands of jobs, establish agro-based industries, and boost local real estate. The Samrudhi Mahamarg has been made in three important phases. In December 2022, the Nagpur to Shirdi route opened. From Shirdi to Nashik, the route opened in May 2023. And the last and final phase, connecting the Latur and thane on june 2025. The Samrudhi Mahamarg started in June 2025.

The Samruddhi Mahamarg is more effective than the Traditional National Highway Route because it reduces travel time by almost 50%. The national old route has high-traffic city points, and also uneven routes and bad road conditions make it even more uncomfortable. Samruddhi Mahamarg offers a radically smoother, safer driving experience. The Samruddhi Mahamarg pass is available only from a few points, so the traveler doesn’t have to waste their time on traffic. The national highway route has to pass through the city cause of the limitation of the route.

The Samruddhi Mahamarg took less time because it has access for speeds up to 100 km per hour. There are no barriers in front of us on the road. The smooth road makes the journey enjoyable. The national highway used to city route, it took time more then 50%.

Having fewer relations with cities decreases the number of accidents on the road. From 2023 to 2024, the accident cases decreased, and the number of deaths decreased by 30.14%. On the other hand, the serious injury numbers have increased because of the high-speed behaviours of the drivers.

The Smruddhi Mahamarg is one of the great developments for the people of Maharashtra. It saves time, money, energy, and maintains mental peace from unnecessary traffic. It not only gives a great experience but also provides a safe journey. The government of Maharashtra has been working for its people, and Smruddhi Mahamarg is one of the examples.
